The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan and is produced by Karan Johar (Dharma Productions) and releases on 11th July 2014. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt reunite in the film after 'Student of the Year'.
Varun Dhawan plays a cricket obsessed character named 'Humpty Sharma' who is modelled on Shashank Khaitan's personality, while Alia Bhatt plays Kavya, a punjabi girl who is obsessed with Kareena Kapoor.
