OMG: Singer Abhijeet calls Ghulam Ali ‘dengu artist’ from ‘terrorist country’

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya made a series of shocking tweets yesterday about the cancelled gig of veteran Ghazal maestro, Ghulam Ali.

He resorted to Twitter and tweeted, "These shameless people have no self respect, no work except terrorism. So called Hindu political parties jst shout 4 mileage bt never tk action agnst these Dengu Artists from terrorist country. These qawwals don't come here on their merit but due to paki Dalals #prestitute and @MaheshNBhatt."

Abhijeet’s tweets were backed up by many Shiv Sena supporters.

The 75-year-old was scheduled to perform in Mumbai and Pune this week as part of the death anniversary tribute to singer Jagjit Singh. But the show in Mumbai was called off on Wednesday after the Shiv Sena threat.

Chiranjeevi who has a humungous fan-base was seen lashing out at a few fans that were creating commotion while he was on his way out of an event.

After the music launch of son Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee: The Fighter, when the megastar was on his way out, he was miffed by the fans who were blocking his way to the car. Before getting into the car, he lost his cool and called them “stupid fellows” and got into his car.

The mob gathered outside was blocking him from getting into his car, clicking selfies and a few fans were trailing him since the venue. Apparently, the chaos didn’t go down well with him and he expressed his irritation.

The veteran actor is on the lookout for scripts and might be soon seen doing his 150^th Telegu film.

Salman Khan in ‘Sultan’ or Aamir Khan in ‘Dangal’, who looks better as a wrestler?

Big banners, huge stars in highly anticipated projects with similar storylines can endanger each other's prospects on the silver screen.

In 2016, one such big game will unfold when 'Andaz Apna Apna' co-stars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan will wrestle on the big screen in ‘Dangal’ and ‘Sultan’ respectively. 

While Aamir Khan took the lead and went on to do a biopic on Mahavir Phogat, who is the father of Geeta and Babita Kumari Phogat, who are also wrestlers. Salman Khan’s story is about a 40-year-old wrestler Sultan Ali Khan who hails from Haryana and is a Yash Raj Films project directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Aamir’s ambitious project is being helmed by Nitesh Tiwari. While Salman’s 'Sultan' will release on the actor's favoured Eid weekend in 2016 along with Shah Rukh Khan’s 'Raees', Aamir’s ‘Dangal’ will hit the screens in December next. 

Jazbaa Movie Review

When the popular channel Star One premiered, a popular show called Siddhant was a hit with the audience. The story of a lawyer with a 100% track order has always made for an interesting drama. Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa borrows its germ from the Korean flick Seven Days but could've taken a cue from the skillfully executed television soap mentioned above. The only and probably the biggest flaw with Jazbaa is its weak screenplay that displays the weakness of its writers and their inability to mould the top notch story with their novel touch. The story is powerful - a sharp, dyanamic lawyer who fights cases for money is fighting for family as a mother against another mother whose daughter was brutally defiled. While watching Jazbaa, on one hand you'll be overcome with the urge to root for its characters and on the other, you'll be too distracted by the discrepancies in the plotline. You can't watch this film without feeling guilty and we can be accused of enjoying this faulty yet fantastic entertainer. It is underwhelming in parts and absolutely enthralling in others.

All that is good about the film can hardly be credited to the captain of the ship, who fails to polish his film adequately. Gupta is unnecessarily descriptive where it is not needed, straight plunges for over-the-top and superfluous drama and his penchant for dialoguebaazi makes the film meander too much. Such films are better played subtle, an art Gupta clearly has no idea about. It is painfully green in colour and though cinematographer Sameer Arya's slick job at the camera is unmissable, the film is over stylised for the story it intends to tell, compromising on the soul.
