Filmfare blind item - Two actresses go under the knife

Actresses’ going under the knife seems to have become the order of the day! And we’re not just talking about the 40-somethings. Two 20-year-old actresses, who have also worked in a film together and are both referred to as firebrands, recently took the help of surgery to better their looks. One underwent liposuction while the other opted for a rhinoplasty. PS: The actress, who underwent rhinoplasty, had to go for additional correction surgery, as her nose job went horribly wrong. Well, what can we say? Except that the industry is full of plastic dolls!

Midnight's Children Movie review

Ratings:3/5 Review By: Nishi Tiwari Site: Rediff
Unlike the book, Mehta's Midnight's Children follows a linear narrative and makes for an engaging, tightly written first half. There are only two jarring characters in an otherwise good lineup of actors -- Rahul Bose's Zulfikar and Sathya Bhabha's Saleem Sinai. The film's second half succeeds in the sense that it makes us despair a bit -- all the good things that the first half promises don't really materialise in the second, much like the disillusioned Saleem and empty hopes of post-Independence era India. What you get for the bargain is a hauntingly melodious background score and magical shots of celebratory fireworks, moving snapshots from a war-ravaged Bangladesh and Saleem dancing to Aao twist karen with younger sister Jamila. Midnight's Children is a must watch for people who've yearned to experience Salman Rushdie's iconic storytelling in a more accessible format.

David Movie Review

Ratings:2/5 David Review By: Taran Adarsh Site: BollywoodHungama
DAVID, Bejoy's second outing, he introduces us to three Davids. Dwelling in three different places. In three different eras. But the characters aren't linked to each other, though these characters do connect towards the film's resolution. Given the genre of the film, one would expect DAVID to hurl a lot of shockers at you. Sadly, it doesn't. Sure, the tone of the sequences alters constantly, from passion to angst to apprehension to conflict to retribution to vindication, but the film fails to involve you completely. What comes across on screen is inconsistent. On the whole, DAVID is more style, less substance. A few moments do stand out, but they are few and far between. Coming from the director of SHAITAN, this one's a mega disappointment!

Vishwaroop Movie Review (Vishwaroopam Tamil)

Vishwaroop Movie Review
Ratings:3/5 Review By: Taran Adarsh Site: BollywoodHungama
VISHWAROOP starts off with gusto and Kamal Haasan ensures there's hardly any dull moment in the first hour. . But the post-interval portions lose focus. The writing isn't persuasive in this hour, especially towards the middle of the second hour and even otherwise, the narrative seems prolonged towards the concluding stages. On the whole, VISHWAROOP is a Kamal Haasan show all the way. It has an interesting premise, superb combat scenes and Kamal Haasan's bravura act as its three aces. But a stretched second hour and far from dramatic finale dilute the impact. Yet, all said and done, those with an appetite for well-made thrillers might relish this effort!
