Vote: Worst Movie of 2013

This year boasts of some fantastically made movies (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, The Lunchbox, etc) along with movies that minted crores at the box office (Chennai Express, Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani, etc). However, there is another set of movies this year that were exceptionally bad in every sense. Take a look -
Race 2

A typical Abbas-Mustan film, this one tried too hard to be a thriller. If the makers thought that throwing in four good looking actors in a movie and making them wear the best of clothes and driving their oh-so-fancy cars would make it work, they were mistaken. They clearly forgot about something called ‘storyline’. Even though it did made money at the box office, it was a serious downer.

Jayantabhai ki Luv Story

This one is about the love story of a gangster. It’s supposed to be a comedy but the movie got over and we still couldn’t figure what was so ‘comical’ about it! Nothing in the movie worked for us. It hurts to see a talented actor like Vivek Oberoi make such choices. Vivek, you surely deserve to be in better films!

Zila Ghaziabad

Well we won’t waste time commenting on this movie because we really wonder if there were any who watched it. If torture had a name, Zila Ghaziabad would be it. Enough said.

I, Me aur Main

Everyone in this movie was confused – from the makers to the actors to even the audience who decided to watch it. Even though the movie is based on a relevant theme, it fails to create an impact and fizzles out. If not for Madras CafĂ©, we would really have our doubts about John’s acting career.

Himmatwala

Sajid Khan is taking brainless comedy to another level and no, there is nothing to be proud about that. Himmatwala was supposed to be a spoof on Bollywood during the 80s but terribly backfired. In short, Himmatwala is lameness personified and nothing else!

Ishkq in Paris

We refuse to believe that the same Preity Zinta did movies like Kal Ho Na Ho and Dil Chahta Hain. We’re guessing desperate times call for desperate measures hence Ishkq in Paris. This one was not only a copy of Before Sunrise but a horrible one at that! We almost feel bad for Salman for being roped in to do a song in the movie. Even that stint didn’t work!

Zanjeer

Zanjeer was nothing less than a joke in the name of a remake. We think the only reason why people watched it was because the makers claimed it to be a remake of the original Amitabh Bachchan starrer. On second thoughts, it isn’t hard to believe that a movie with songs like “Mumbai ke hero” or “Pinky hain paise walon ki” bombed at the box office. They should have known better.

Besharam

We had high hopes for Besharam. In spite of a disappointing trailer, we still thought we could give it a chance but alas! From Ranbir Kapoor’s look in the movie to the over-the-top loud humour Besharam exuberated, this one bombed at the box office and how! Ranbir who has made great choices when it comes to films surely wasn’t thinking this time.

Boss

Take the story elements in Rowdy Rathore, Khiladi 786, Singham and Wanted, make a movie and Boss is what you get! Yes, there is nothing new about it. You’ll again see Akshay Kumar deliver those one liners, get people flying in the air with one blow and all that. What Akshay is trying to prove by doing the same kind of films over and over again is beyond us! Just when he got us praising his work in Special 26, he goes ahead and gives us Boss!

Grand Masti

Masti and its sequel Grand Masti are both adult comedies but Masti was genuinely hilarious and this one is plain obnoxious! The supposed “humour” in this movie ended up being offensive leaving a sense of discomfort. With cringe-worthy dialogues and crude scenes, Grand Masti is vulgarity galore!

Rajjo

Why would a talented actress like Kangana Ranaut do a hopeless film like Rajjo?! The makers aimed to make an ‘artistic’ film on the tragic life of a courtesan which bombed and ended up being comical. Rajjo is a complete waste of time. Thank your stars if you gave this one a miss!

R..Rajkumar

No points for guessing what this one’s about. Yes, it’s like every other Prabhudeva movie. The rowdy hero falls in love with a quiet girl and some goons appear from nowhere! We wonder how Sonakshi Sinha is not bored doing the same kind of films because we sure are.
2013 also saw movies like Aatma, Nasha, Policegiri, etc that aren’t even worth a mention here!
So which one did you hate the most?
