The much awaited episode of the new season of Koffee with Karan saw cousins Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor spilling the beans on Karan Johar's couch! While watching the episode, we realized that even though Katrina Kaif wasn't on the show, the fact that her name was brought up after every five minutes made her very much a part of the show too!
Kareena Kapoor looked beautiful and was as usual as carefree as ever! Even though she was not diplomatic, we did see a more subtle side of Bebo. Yes, she also managed to say the silliest things with utmost confidence that left Karan Johar and us in splits. When she was asked if she will work with an ex, she replied saying, "I don't believe in looking back." What was that supposed to mean? So yes, Bebo did leave us perplexed in many places but we loved her in her casual self!
Ranbir on the other hand was just the opposite. So much that he even admitted to be coming with a speech when asked about Katrina. He seemed too rehearsed and controlled. He knew he'll be asked and a lot of controversial questions and after what happened last time, he was much more guarded this time! We were quite disappointed seeing that because the whole point on being on Koffee with Karan is to spill the beans and have fun!
The show promised a lot of exposes and rightly so! There were innumerable instances when Kareena gave away a bit too much leaving Ranbir embarrassed. From revealing that she wants to dance to Katrina's hit item numbers on their wedding to referring to Kat as her "sister-in-law", everything is out in the open now! Trust Bebo to do something like that!
Ranbir had a lot to speak about this time even though he didn't wish to! He spoke about how he doesn't wish to speak about his relationships this time as it went against him the last time. He hates the fact that his parents get dragged into every controversy. It was good fun to see his face when asked if he's in love with Katrina Kaif. He was caught by surprise and had absolutely nothing to say and that gave away a lot! We particularly loved Ranbir in the quiz segment when he was pumped up. Looked like he was finally able to be himself without the fear of treading on thin ice!
Teasing, revelations, the times Ranbir tried his best not to smile, watching Bebo get bullied and of course, Karan and his famous way of slyly bombarding his guests with the most "uncomfortable" questions - Ranbir and his 'behna' Kareena were lots of fun to watch!

i dont know what the fuss is abt ranbir yes hes a good actor, but he seems sort of ruthless like katrina for some reason and and cut throat. neither is fantastically good looking though kareena is full of her self she stills comes across as genuine and for me that weighs more that being cold and a chameleon
ReplyDeleteRanbir's suit is ghastly. Has he no taste? Black or grey would suit him. This looks horrible. Besides, it clashes with that lollipop pink of Kareena's.
ReplyDeleteOn previous season rishi kapoor said sonam and deepikas comments was a case of "sour grapes"...lol well look how the tables have turned, i think its safe to say ranbirs comments are that of sour grapes. Both deepika and sonam have done great work this year, and the new lot of guys like sushant ranveer aditya dhanush gave amazing performances this year, All of them surpassing ranbir.Ranbir was completely overshadowed this year. He sees them as a threat.. and probably underestimated deepika, sonam and all the new guys. oh well guess its karma.. as for Karan i think he's lost his touch.This episode lacked what the previous episodes had. Expected much more
ReplyDeleteI love Indian films especially Bollywood movies and always loved how different they are from Hollywood movies - BUT here I was forced to compare 30-something Hollywood actors and actresses with these two 30-plus top bollywood actor and actress Ranbir and Kareena - and my goodness how cringeworthy and juvenile are these two! I can never imagine the same vapid, gossip-filled conversation between any talk show host (even if the host is as one-dimensional as Karan Johar) and a 30-plus Hollywood star be it Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Charlize Theron, Kristen Bell, Kate Winslet. Seriously these Kapoor cousins are so unrefined, shallow, uninteresting, with nothing fresh/unique to say except gossip mongering and inflating each others' egos! IMO the only Bollywood stars one can listen to without feeling embarrassed for them or cringing are the likes of Sushmita Sen, Shabana Azmi, Amitabh Bachchan, Lara Dutta, SRK (when he's not being crass/arrogant), Rahul Khanna, Prithviraj, Abhishek (not a great conversationalist but very articulate and elegant in his speech), Hrithik (nothing super-intelligent but at least he comes across as well spoken) and a few more older actors like Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman and a few others of that era. Kareena, Ranbir and their likes (for example: Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, Katrina Kaif - though Katrina doesn't induce cringes she has nothing intelligent to say either) should be thankful till their dying day for the families they were born into/the stars who helped them (that's in Katrina's case) and the fans who've accepted them, since in terms of personality and wit they get a big 0 and their acting too is mediocre at best.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Ranbir, Priyanka is a very average actress. Her performance in Barfi was brave and shocking but not heart touching at all. She put in a lot of effort but sometimes talent is more important than effort. Anushka is AMAZING I'm really looking forward to Bombay velvet. She was silly in JTHJ but lovely in BBB, matru and rab ne. And btw, Bebo looked stunning. Also loved her answers. Great going! P.S. Please don't be jealous DP fans, Kat is ranbirs lady love and there's nothing wrong if he prefers her.
