Another 100 Crore Movie? OMG Oh My God! Surprises All With 75 Crore Collection

OMG Oh My God! received good reviews and analysts noted that collections were picking up due to good word of mouth publicity. However, fans and critics alike were surprised to find that OMG is actually inching close to the 100 crore club.

The surprise package of 2012 has grossed more than 75 crores in the domestic market with an additional 10 crore collection from international markets. Director Umesh Shukla is basking in glory and is pleased at the suggestion that this will probably be the first instance where a film has come close to the 100 crore club due to popular audience reaction alone.
Director Umesh told Bollywood Hungama, "Even before the release of the film there were many people who asked me that with this film am I looking at making an entry into the 100 crore club…. I just wanted OMG to touch people's hearts. I wanted the message to reach them." Having said that, Umesh further clarified, "Of course when that translates into commercial success as well and comes close to the 100 crore club, it is bound to make you feel happy."
The movie serves as proof that a well-intentioned project executed well will do well in India even if it delves in supposedly 'risky' issues like religious hypocrisy and the social ills being promoted by so-called religious persons today.
