  1. Can I just say I've watched this like twenty times already? This is such a good year for movies. We've already had Ishaqzaade, Vicky Donor, and the Gangs of Wasseypur movies, and now we have Barfi!, English Vinglish, SOTY (I know, I know, I'm in the minority here), Yash Chopra's next, Talaash, and Aiyya!
Also, after watching this, I have to say I'll be very disappointed if Farah doesn't cast Rani opposite Shahrukh in Happy New Year. I know I shouldn't be surprised if she casts someone very young and very inappropriate, but, according to Farah, the lead female character requires an established actress who can act, dance, and look hot. Um, hello, Ms. Khan. Rani fulfils all your requirements.
I also will add that it makes me happy to see smart, entertaining, well-marketed films centered around women coming out of Bollywood. Both Heroine and English Vinglish have a lot of positive buzz, and hopefully Aiyya will generate the same kind of buzz.
Lastly - Preity! THIS is the sort of film you needed to pick for your post-hiatus movie :(. Produced by Anurag Kashyap, with music by Amit Trivedi, and co-starring a genuine leading man. Whether the film earns lots of money or not, at least it doesn't smell of desperation and looks like a real film, not a cheesy vanity project.
