Prithviraj Sukumaran, better known as just Prithviraj, is all ready to make his debut entry into Bollywood with none other than Rani Mukerji.
Although Prithviraj is a popular actor in the South, he is hardly known to the Bollywood audience. Some of his movies have included Raavanan, and the recently released Urumi with Genelia D'Souza.
Apparently, Prithviraj has had plenty of offers from Bollywood before, but none of them really appealed to him, until this movie came along.
The movie will be produced by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Sachin Kundalkar. Pairing up Rani with Prithviraj seems to be an obvious choice for the producer.
Sources inform that Anurag was impressed with Rani's performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black. "Anurag has always felt that Rani is one of the most gifted actors around. But he didn't have an appropriate role for her. Now, he feels Rani is perfect for his next," says a source.
Previous reports had suggested that this would be an out and out love story, but Anurag Kashyap has dismissed these rumours. He did however tweet about the confirmation of the movie.
"Confirming our next production to be directed by Sachin Kundalkar and starring Rani Mukherji and Prithviraj. It goes on floors September"
The 29 year old actor's debut will no doubt be eagerly anticipated by a lot of people. Pairing up with the powerhouse of talent, Rani Mukerji, will hopefully guarantee a powerfully acted out movie.

As a Prithviraj and Rani fan, I am very very excited. I would love to see her in an out and out romantic movie, as she hasn't played that kind of a role in a while.
Prithviraj Sukumaran (Malayalam: പൃഥ്വിരാജ് സുകുമാരന്, Pr̥thvirāj Sukumāran , born 16 October 1982[1] in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India) credited mononymously as Prithviraj (Malayalam: പൃഥ്വിരാജ്), is an Malayalam film actor and producer.
He made his debut in 2002 in the Malayalam film Nandanam, and has since acted in more than fifty films, notably including Swapnakoodu (2003), Kana Kandaen (2005), Classmates (2006), Vaasthavam (2006), Mozhi (2007), Thirakkatha (2008) and Urumi (2011). He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Vaasthavam.

ReplyDeleteRani has a baby face and it makes her look cute, therefore she always look younger than her costars.. Even right now looking at their photo, rani seems younger than the hero. Even in DBH she looked younger than shahid. Lucky girl! So stunning as well
ReplyDeleteOriginally, I was dubious about their pairing too. But, if Rani can look great opposite Shahid Kapoor, then I'm sure she will look fine with Prithviraj. If you look at his pictures from Urumi, he played a very masculine guy who looked all rough and ragged. Therefore, I think the pairing could work :)
