Here's More on Urmila's Husband - Mohsin Akhtar Mir!

Urmila's Matondkar's husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir has grabbed a lot of eyeballs for getting hitched with the lovely actress. Mohsin himself is from Bollywood and has also acted in a couple of movies. Here is Mohsin's story on how he beat the odds and built a dream career for himself in the city of dreams, Mumbai. 

Early Childhood

Mohsin hails from a conservative Kashmiri family. He and his brother Muzammil Akhtar have always been very close and also nutured secret dreams of a modelling career. When Mohsin turned 21, his dad began to look for a girl for him to marry. That is when Mohsin decided to call it quits and head to Mumbai. In Mohsin's words, ""My brother and I left Kashmir because mom started looking for a girl when I turned 21. I didn't want to get married, I wanted to be a model. So we came to Delhi. Dad thought I'd come back in 15 days, but today he's proud of us. It was a struggle initially, but things changed after the (Mr India Runner-up crown)."
Mumbai Dreams

During his struggling days, Mohsin got TV offers. However, he was not interested in TV. He soon took part in the Mr India contest and became the first runner up in 2007. After this, Mohsin received his first acting assignment in It's a Man's World. In his words, I was never interested in TV. And the film offers I was getting weren't satisfactory. Then I met Saurabh, at a coffee shop and loved the script instantly ( For It's a Man's World)." Mohsin played the main lead opposite Mouli Ganguly in this 2008 movie.  The film was about sex workers. Mohsin had said during the time, "I'm not from a filmi background and don't have any godfathers in the industry, so my first film was important. I want a role that'll be remembered by all. I wanted to debut in a realistic film with a social message."
Mohsin's second movie was Mumbai Mast Kallander. He featured along with his brother in this movie which released in 2011. He also featured in Farhan Akhtar's movie Luck By Chance.
Modelling

Mohsin has been since continuing his modeling assignments. He has walked the ramp for designers Manish Malhotra, Taroon Kumar, Vikram Phandis and Ranna Gill.
Hitched!

When he set out to Mumbai with a bag full of dreams, little did he know that he will be marrying one of the leading stars of Bollywood. Mohsin (33) and Urmila (42) first met at a common friends wedding. Friendship and then love blossomed between the two. After a long period of courtship, they got married in a quiet and intimate ceremony today amidst friends and family.
