Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya is one of the few men who invite controversies to their doorstep often. One of the popular playback voices from 90s era, it is not Abhijeet's first brush with controversy. The singer came under the scanner earlier this year, when during the Salman Khan's hit and run case verdict, Abhijeet tweeted, “Roads are meant for cars and dogs not for people sleeping on them.” He received a lot of flak over his insensitive remarks and later had to step out and apologise for his statement, clarifying his stand. A couple of days back, he was back in the limelight by calling Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali "dengue artist" from the terrorist country!
However, the recent update on the singer is, he is now embroiled in another controversy again - an FIR has been registered against Abhijeet, allegedly for molesting a woman! The case has been in registered in Oshiwara police station, Mumbai, where a 35-year-old woman has filed a complaint against the singer, who allegedly states that she has been molested by Abhijeet in the Durga Puja Pandal. Each year, the singer organises a Durga Puja Pandal in the Lokhandwala area. The case has been registered under the act 354A, 404 and 34, and the police authorities have begun their investigation regarding the same. According to our sources, the incident took place last evening, and as soon the charges are verified against the singer, Abhijeet can be arrested by the police.
