Bigg Boss 9 Premiere: Salman introduces 7 jodis, double trouble begins!

For all those who have been ardent followers of 'Bigg Boss' and were eagerly waiting for the 9th season of the show, have lots to know about this television's most controversial show hosted by superstar Salman Khan.
From a revamped house which is absolutely colorful to contestants entering the house in jodis, this season has many new things to offer.
And with the first episode of 'Bigg Boss 9' going on air today, people waited with bated breath to know which celebrities have finally made it to the much talked about show, how are the pairs made and what exactly does this 'double trouble' mean.
The episode started off with our 'Dabangg' host Salman Khan, sporting a new look (read hairstyle), exploring the house with guide Deepak Dobriyal, best known as Pappi Ji from 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'. After taking a tour of the newly done up place, Salman proceeded for his grand entry on the BB 9 stage with his muses - Elli Avram and Daisy Shah.

Salman, Daisy and Elli set the stage on fire as they grooved to 'Photocopy' and 'Hangover'. The ladies then bid adieu to the show, leaving Salman to do the rest of the honours!
In his peculiar style, Salman took the mic and introduced the concept of 'double trouble' to the viewers and one by one introduced the contestants. He interacted, poked fun and entertained both the contestants and the audience! However, this time, before the celebs entered the house, they had to participate in a Q&A with the journalists present on the show. Though the concept according to many was good, the fact remains that it actually became slightly boring after a point because the questions looked scripted!
And before we reveal the other highlights of the show, have a look at the seven jodis of Bigg Boss season 9:
1. Digangana Suryavanshi and Roopal Tyagi - Digangana is an actress passionate about singing. She has been pampered a lot by her parents and considers herself a Princess. She was given a choice of choosing her partner from Roopal and Prince, out of which she chose the former. Roopal on the other hand is a famous television actress known for her role in 'Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke'.
2. Kishwer Merchant and Aman Verma: Kishwer, who made a grand entry on the show with her boyfriend of five years Suyash Rai, was given a choice between Aman Verma and Prince Narula. Given that Aman and Kishwer have known each other for many years, she chose Aman as her partner. Aman too, was very happy to have been paired with Kishwer.
3.  Rimi Sen and Suyyash Rai - Rimi shot to fame with her performances in films like 'Dhoom', 'Baghban', 'Golmaal' among others, and decided to be a part of the show because she wanted to make friends. She too was given a choice to choose her partner between Prince Narula and Suyyash Rai. Yet again, Prince was rejected and Rimi chose Suyyash, who is Kishwer's boyfriend, as her partner. Another interesting thing that can be noted is that Rimi played Aman Verma's daughter in 'Baghban'. Hypothetically, if she was given Aman as one of the options to choose her partner, we think the comfort level would have been higher.
4. Yuvika Choudhary and Vikas Bhalla - Yuvika has worked with Shah Rukh Khan in 'Om Shaanti Om'. Between Prince and Vikas, she finds the latter more sensible and genuine. She chooses him as the partne and expresses her displeasure about Prince. Vikas on the other hand is a singer, actor and a perfectionist.
5. Rochelle Rao and Prince Narula - Rochelle is a bubbly, talkative actress who entered the stage with Mandana Karimi, another participant. While she was given an option to chose her partner earlier, later it was revealed that, Prince Narula, who was rejected by six girls, bagged the opportunity to chose his partner and zeroed down on Rochelle.(PS. We had to also bear the unbearable introduction of Prince for six times, thanks to the six ladies rejecting him!)
6. Mandana Karimi and Keith Sequiera - With Prince choosing Rochelle, Mandana had the opportunity to chose her partner. She chose Keith Sequiera, a VJ actor. The twist in the tale was that he happens to be Rochelle's boyfriend.
7. Ankit Gera and Arvind Vegda - Last but not the least, Ankit Gera, known for his casanova image and best remembered as Roopal Tyagi's ex-boyfriend, was left with no choice but to be paired with the only option given by BB9. Ankit's partner is singer Arvind Vegda.
Seven jodis, two couples, one ex-couple and a Prince, who was rejected by six girls and shot to fame within 45 minutes of the show - the first episode of 'Bigg Boss 9', couldn't get spicier than this! And if that is what you thought then you surely need to know their first task of the new season.
In the first task, Bigg Boss will allow only one bag per jodi to enter the house. Now whose bag will make it to the house and who will compromise is something that we shall come to know tomorrow!
Double trouble has begun guys! Stay tuned to know more.
