The controversial reality show never fails to surprise us. And what we have heard lately is the mother of all surprises!
So, this may not come as good news to all Salman Khan fans who have been watching their beloved star hosting the show every weekend.
The makers of ‘Bigg Boss 8’ will be extending the series by a month after arriving at a consensus during a recent meeting. This means that the show won’t be ending on January 4 as was decided earlier but will take a month more to wrap-up.
Now, the surprise is that Salman won’t be taking the show forward as (a) his contracts ends on January 4 (b) he has no extra dates for the show as the shoot of his film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is demanding his time.
And guess what, ‘Happy New Year’ director Farah Khan has signed the contract with the channel to host the show after Salman quits.
A newspaper quoted a source from the show as saying, "The production team had a meeting with the contestants for almost an hour and discussed the idea of extending the show for a month. Most of the contestants inside the house have agreed for it.”
Farah, however, was not the first choice to serve as Salman’s replacement. The makers had sought Anil Kapoor and Karan Johar but the duo turned down the offer. It was then that the makers zeroed in Farah as she has been an avid follower of the reality show.
The decision to extend the show was taken all of sudden as the makers have seen ‘Bigg Boss 8’ climbing up the TRP charts. But whether or not Farah will be able to woo the audiences is something we need to wait and watch.
