Dhoom 3 crosses 200 crores worldwide

As per Box Office India, YRF's Dhoom 3, has made phenomenal business over the weekend and it is the first film to record gross collections of over 200 crores worldwide in the first 3 days of release. Previously, the SRK-Deepika starrer Chennai Express, released over Eid, grossed approximately 160 crores worldwide in its first 3 days of business.

Dhoom 3's gross collections in India come in at around 130 crores whereas the overseas figure is expected to be over 70 crores and possibly even 75 crores. Compared to the current highest grossing film of all time, Chennai Express, the collections for Dhoom 3 at the domestic box office are 9-10% higher and overseas, they are a whopping 60-65% higher where records are being shattered by incredible margins.
One can note that around this time last year, the Salman Khan starrer, Dabangg 2 was the first film to cross 100 crores worldwide in its first weekend so for that figure to be doubled in the same period of time by a non holiday release such as Dhoom 3 is extraordinary.
It remains to be seen whether Dhoom 3 can cross the 500 crores mark which has not been achieved before. Congratulations to the Dhoom 3 team!
