Shahrukh Khan has had a fairy tale career in Bollywood. From the boy who came from Delhi to Mumbai carrying nothing but a bag full of dreams, to being the reigning king of Bollywood - he has seen it all. He is the ever-romantic lover that every girl dreams to have.
From the looks of it, Shahrukh has some extremely strong and ground family values that seem to be imbibed in him by his parents. Just like he never lets go of the memories of his late parents, he apparently holds on to everything he learnt from them. This is perhaps the reason why he maintains such a strong family bond in his life. Shahrukh's fans evidently recognize these qualities and adore him for it. SRK is the badshah not only for his lover boy image on screen, but for his family-man image off screen as well.
When fans see SRK they see him as the crazy lover who managed to marry the love of his life - his wife Gauri - against all odds. They see the faithful husband who is always there when his wife needs him. They see the doting father who makes a fuss protecting his loved ones and tries his best bringing them up in this complicated environment surrounded by shutterbugs and peeping toms. These, along with his filmy genius, is what fans adore him for.
However, SRK has been the victim of a situation in recent times. His alleged involvement with a co-star has made rounds many a time ruining this very strong image that SRK had the good fortune of enjoying all these years. This makes me wonder, what will happen to SRK's fan base who were enthralled by their idol's love for his family? Do you think they are too loyal to the badshah to budge from their dedication towards him, or will they also churn their doubts in the rumour mills that have begun to make too much noise, lately?
if you see the careers of our actors, they all have the successful years, bad years and learning years..all of the three Khans had the same thing. I'm just surprised how the tables have turned on Shah Rukh and Salman..Salman is now known to be the good one, who saw that happen five years ago!

ReplyDeleteof course all the pc rumors have negatively affected srk's fan base...especially in India where we refuse to see that our fimli gods have feet of clay! things are especially grim for srk because he always made it a point to underline his love for his wife and kids in every interview and at that time no denying it helped in increasing his fan base. which is why, now that his alleged dalliance has been revealed, the same fans would be quick to react negatively. someone mentioned the big b below - not in a million years can srk ever achieve the god-like stature and respect that the big b has gained in India. Bachchan is literally worshipped. But remember, it took completely cutting off, denying and ignoring a Rekha for Bachchan to salvage his reputation. Srk's silence was read as acceptance and thus began the waning in his popularity.
