The Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor film Bodyguard has broken the record of the Salman-Sonakshi Sinha movie Dabangg in just five days after its release.
Kareena is in seventh heaven. Back in the saddle as the No 1 Bollywood diva, she says, I have three films on the list of the six highest grossing films in Hindi cinema. Bodyguard, 3-Idiots and Golmaal-3. I'm ecstatic.''
Kareena says Bodyguard has crossed 82 cr in just five days making it a mammoth hit and her biggest one. Trade sources say Bodyguard will not succeed in breaking the 3 Idiots overall record. But of course at this stageeverything we speak on the subject is a conjecture.
As for Salman Khan, he is the No 1 Khan and the No 1 hero because he has Bodyguard, Dabangg and Ready on the list of the highest grossers. Aamir has 3 Idiots and Ghajini, while Ajay Devgn has Golmaal-3.
------------------->Bodyguard RECORD BREAKING Weekend
Bodyguard has simply torn up the record books and smashed practically every opening record at every cinema it was released in. The holiday period and humungous releases has meant that it has smashed the first week record of Dabangg (81 cr nett) in just five days. Bodyguard managed to hit around 2800 screens on nearly 2000 theatres over the weekend when its release was the widest.
The film has collected another 17.5-18 crore nett on Sunday which has taken the five day extended weekend to somewhere between the 84-85 crore nett range as per early estimates.
The film help up supremely well at places over the five days while other were up and down depending on which day was a holiday. Overall the film is almost certain to emerge the biggest hit of 2011 beating the other Salman Khan release this year Ready.

and one more thing, very few actresses became so big on their own, alone with their talent without selling their izaat.
But she didn't really have a role in most of these films, she was just there looking pretty. I even forgot she was in 3 idiots, if you took her character out of the film it still would have been a superhit. That's how you measure success - if the film would have done just as good without you, then you can't take credit for its success.
