Pradeep Bhatia reveals the fitness secrets of Katrina, Ranbir


Meet Pradeep Bhatia, fitness trainer to many Bollywood stars. Originally from Delhi, Bhatia has trained Anil Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Kim Sharma, Arjun Rampal, Katrina Kaif, Preity Zinta, Surily Goel, Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora.

Bhatia is currently working exclusively for Ranbir Kapoor. He travels with Ranbir to his shooting schedules and keeps track of his diet and fitness regime.

He has been training the stars for the past 4 years and has recently opened his own gym in Vikhroli, Mumbai, India.
Asha Ashish© had an exclusive chat with him to get an insight into the fitness world of the Bollywood stars.

Bhatia says - “The stars workout three days a week. The first day the focus is on lower body workout. The second day it’s usually the core & upper body workout and the third day the focus is on full body workout. Workout regime consists of lot of burpees, kickboxing, spider man walks, jumping jacks, jumpers, bosu balls and a lot of hip abduction and hip adduction”.



Bhatia strongly feels that one has to control their diet during their workout. He feels there is no point going for a fitness regime if the diet is not controlled.

Here are some must-follow diet tips to achieve a good fitness level:
-Eliminate fast food from your diet
-Don’t eat rice at nights. Eat rice only during the day.
-Cut back on dairy, gravy items and oil
-Use olive oil when required

If one can control ones’ diet for 30 days, you can surely see results says Bhatia.

He also shared fitness secrets of some of his clientele:

Katrina Kaif
Bhatia travelled with Katrina during APKGK and Rajneeti. She works out for an hour a day and 3 days a week. During APKGK, she did not find time to work out due to her busy schedule. One fine day she called Bhatia at 12:30 in the night for a workout. She worked out from 1 to 2 am. That is how dedicated she is says Bhatia.

Katrina loves to work out on Bosu. For Sheela Ki Jawani, she worked out a lot on her abs and the core. She did a lot of iso-planks.

Katrina eats a lot of fruits (banana, apple, papaya) and grilled fish. She doesn’t consume rice. Her breakfast is usually brown bread with peanut butter or egg whites. Her lunch consists of grilled fish and green salad.

Priyanka Chopra
Bhatia worked with Priyanka for a week during the shooting of Anjaana Anjaani. She is genetically blessed with a lean body. She does not tend to put on a lot weight. Even if she does, it shows only on her face. She eats anything and everything. She is not a big gym person. But if she has to be fit for a movie, she does a lot of cardio.

Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor does not have a great appetite. That is the reason he does not tend to put on weight. Even if he does, it’s only on the face. Unlike many, you will never see him binge on food. He lost 6 kgs for his role in Rockstar by doing a lot of cardio and kickboxing. He came down from 74 to 68 kgs. Bhatia says Ranbir has 6 pack abs 12 months of the year.

Ranbir Loves indian food. His favorites are bhindi masala, tandoori chicken legs, grilled salmon and sushi.

Malaika Arora Khan
Malaika does a lot of tabata. She follows a strict diet regime and works out with a lot of dedication. She has a lot of stamina and works nonstop.
