Top 15 tracks of 2014. Which one is your favourite?

Year 2014 was a mix romantic and foot-tapping songs. Some songs made us fall in love, some were just too good to the ear and some made us dance like crazy. There was a song for every mood.

Alia Bhatt’s “Main tenu samjhawa”:
Alia Bhatt first crooned a lullaby “Suha saha” in “Highway”. The next time she went behind the mic was for “Main tenu samjhawa” in “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”. The song was originally sung by Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Alia’s version was a quick hit. The song gave goose bumps, and made us want to fall in love.
“London thumakda”:
“London thumakda” from Kangana Ranaut-starrer “Queen” was crooned by Labh Januja, Neha Kakkar and Sonu Kakkar with music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by Anvita Dutt. This is a wedding song and will make you want to put on your dancing shoes.
“Meherbaan”:
This romantic song from “Bang Bang!” has been crooned by Ash King, Shilpa Rao and Shekhar Ravjiani with music by Vishal-Shekhar and lyrics by Anvita Dutt and Kummar. The song features Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s romantic getaway. “Meherbaan” is a beautiful song, the lyrics is not deep but it will touch your heart.
“Mileya mileya”:
This song from “Happy Ending” has been crooned by Rekha Bhardwaj, Jigar Saraiya and Priya Saraiya, with lyrics by Priya and music by Sachin-Jigar. It has both folk and western touch to it and that is the beauty of the song. It features Saif Ali Khan and Ileana D’Cruz. It is a heart-warming and soulful track and will remind you of the one close to your heart.
“Chaar Kadam”:
“Chaar kadam” from “PK” has been crooned by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics by Swanand Kirkire and music by Shantanu Moitra. It features Anushka and Sushant romancing in the streets of Bruges. The song is simple yet beautiful.
“Manwa laage”:
This romantic track from “Happy New Year” is based on Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. It has been crooned by Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh with music by Vishal-Shekhar and lyrics by Irshad Kamil. This song is a mixture of romance, soulful lyrics, and an electrifying chemistry between the two actors.
“Galliyan”:
“Galliyan” from “Ek Villain” has been sung by Ankit Tiwari with music by Ankit and lyrics by Manoj Muntashir. The song is very soulful and expressive. It is picturised on Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor.
“Hangover”:
This romantic song from “Kick” has been crooned by superstar Salman Khan, Shreya Ghoshal and Meet Bros Anjaan. The song features Salman with Jacqueline Fernandez grooving to this beautiful track.
“Pataka guddi”:
“Pataka guddi” from “Highway” has two versions, one by Sultana and Jyoti Nooran and other by A. R. Rahman. The song features Alia Bhatt. The Sufi number is soulful and will make you feel free-spirited. While the Nooran sister’s version is earthy, Rahman’s version has a very western feel.
“Abhi toh party shuru hui hai”:
This party track from “Khoobsurat” has been crooned by Badshah and Aastha with music and lyrics by Badshah. This song will make you put on your dancing shoes and dance like Sonam Kapoor with a “I don’t care who is watching me” attitude.
“Zehnaseeb”:
This “Hasee Toh Phasee” romantic number has been sung by Shekhar Ravjianin and Chinmayi Sripaada with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music by Vishal-Shekhar. The song is very expressive and it will make you realise of the moment when you realize how fortunate you are to have someone so special in your life.
“Baby doll”:
“Baby doll” is from “Ragini MMS 2”. It has been crooned by Meet Bros Anjjan feat. Kanika Kapoor with music by Meet Bros Anjjan and lyrics by Kumaar. It is a foot-tapping number featuring the sensuous Sunny Leone.
“Bang Bang!” title track:
The song has been crooned by Benny Dayal and Neeti Mohan with lyrics by Vishal Dadlani and music by Vishal-Shekhar. This foot tapping number will make you go to the dance floor. The song has been picturised on Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. Hrithik is also doing some Michael Jackson steps in the song.
“Muskuraane”:
Crooned by Arijit Singh, the music has been given by Jeet Gannguli and lyrics has been penned by Rashmi Singh. This song from “Citylights” features Arijit and also the lead cast Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha. It is a soulful track and you will keep humming it.
“Hamdard”:
This melodious track from “Ek Villain” has been crooned by Arijit Singh. The lyrics and music has been given by Mithoon. The song features Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra. Won’t say much about it, but this will remind you of your ‘Hamdard’.
