Using sarcasm and letting the characters have a laugh at themselves was a wise move in bringing in the humour in an otherwise dark plot. Also fans of American Horror Story will be pleasantly impressed by the opening credits which have been majorly inspired by the cult mini-series. Creaking doors, muffled voices in the corridor and jarring background music might work in a Ramsay film, but it only stifles whatever little progress Ragini makes on the scare-o-meter. Whether you are a Sunny Leone fan or not, Ragini MMS 2 still manages to raise a few scares and stay true to its genre.

RAGINI MMS-2 has ample scares, a generous dose of skin show, a winning soundtrack and of course, a sensuous Sunny Leone to spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S. This second helping is much more scrumptious and delicious than the first. Go, get spooked!

Ragini MMS 2 is far more lucid than Ragini MMS. Though the first half isn’t exactly remarkable, the build up to the second half, the well used titillating show and the tight eldritch climax is what makes the film a worthwhile film here. Do not expect anything beyond mindless entertainment because this film is just the horror variation of a commercial potboiler. Don’t attach logic, don’t expect intelligence, just get entertained.

Where it falters is in the lack of novelty in the scenes that feature the spirit, and its bloody trail: there are a couple of scenes that send a shiver down your spine, but then it all becomes familiar. A little more attention to that, and to the storyline, and this will become a solid franchise. So when is part 3 coming?

Ragini MMS 2 reminds you that Bollywood still is a stinker conveyor belt. Why someone needs to sully the face of horror cinema and churn out such awful films is a question best left for folks smarter than me. You have no one but yourselves to blame if the words ‘One ticket for Ragini MMS 2’ exit your mouth.

Of the cast, Karan Mehra (better known as Naren of Pavitra Rishta) and Sandhya Mridul succeed in providing the desperately needed comic relief as two overenthusiastic, OTT actors in the film's crew. Even Dabas enjoys hamming as the director, but his is a more limited part. Sunny Leone isn't pushed out of her comfort zone and is more than content playing the stereotype. Our suggestion: watch the first half of Ragini MMS or get hold of The Conjuring. These films accomplish in doing what Ragini MMS 2 fails to.

Ragini MMS 2 is a very clever collaboration between people who were obviously enjoying the tasks assigned to them. Director Patel has very cleverly mounted on screen a script which is packed with jokes, ghatiaya dialogue, dirty talk and even a female orgasm. Ragini MMS 2 has the standard plot of film within a film. But it’s been used to great effect and impact here. Has just the right amount of mambo-jambo to carry the conceit of horror films forward. The direction is all controlled, not allowing the bhoot business to go out of control, as it usually does, beginning with the soundtrack. The film, in fact, has a fabulous song to which Sunny Leone sways seductively and even flashes.
