When a Bollywood damsel is in distress, she turns to Salman Khan for help.
The Dabangg star played knight in shining armor for model-turned-actress Mughda Godse a few weeks ago, impressing upon Percept Picture Company to clear Rs 6 lakh due to her for Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail, or else.
Mugdha, whose wasn't paid in full for her performance in the film which released in November, 2009, had called up Percept several times but hadn't got any clear answers. “Every time they told her, 'kal denge, parson denge',” said a source close to the actress.
“She first thought it was one of those usual delays, but later started fearing that something was amiss.”
Mugdha thought of asking others from the industry for help, but let the matter rest, thinking there might be a backlash.
Until she ran into Salman Khan at a celebrity cricket match. “The non-payment for Jail was constantly telling on Mugdha.
She knew she had no choice but to seek help. And who better than Salman! She told Salman about her dues,” the source added.
Luckily for Mugdha, Percept's head honcho Shailendra Singh was at the same match.
Salman immediately walked up to Shailendra, whom he knows for several years through brand endorsements and TV commercials, and asked why his company wasn't clearing Mughda's payment.
He told Shailendra this was not right. “Shailendra froze, and promised that Mugdha would soon get her money,” the source said.
In just a few hours, Mugdha's balance payment was delivered at her doorstep. “She could not believe her eyes.
While she knew that Salman's intervention would help, but didn't think that the result would be so quick,” the actress's friend said.
When contacted, Mugdha told Mumbai Mirror: “Salman helped me to get my money in no time. He is a real hero, and a great friend.”
Despite several attempts, Shailendra Singh remained unavailable for comment.
