The outcome of every investigation in Pratyusha Banerjee's death has been shocking! After two weeks of her death, here comes the confirmed news of the late actress been pregnant.
On Monday, the JJ Hospital doctors confirmed Pratyusha, 24, was pregnant and had probably undergone an abortion not long before her alleged suicide on April 1. The revelation was made on the basis of a histopathological examination of tissues from the uterus. According to sources of a leading daily, 'The findings showed that there was a conception few days or a month before her demise, and there was a premature death of the foetal cell. The products of conception, or the placental or foetal tissue in the uterus found following delivery, termination of pregnancy or a miscarriage, were infected and degenerated. That usually hints towards a secondary infection, probably occurring due to an attempt to terminate the pregnancy."
But it seems the police will have a tough time establishing the paternity of the child according to experts. "Since there are no tissues left or rather they were removed, it may be challenging to carry out a DNA test to establish the child's paternity," an expert said. Dean Dr TP Lahane said, "We cannot reveal the findings. The report has been handed over to the police." Many departments are working simultaneously to establish the cause of Pratyusha's death. So far, the investigators only have a preliminary autopsy report which states the provisional cause of death as "ligature over the neck with asphyxia".
It is said that Pratyusha committed suicide because of turmoil in her relationship with Rahul Raj Singh. This report can definitely add a twist to the entire matter.
