Rajinikanth's next after the super blockbuster Endhiran/Robot is Rana where he will play triple roles and will also romance Deepika Padukone. Three of those roles span different generations with Deepika romancing the youngest Rajini. Madhuri was approached to play his mother to the youngest one and a wife to the older one.
The Dhak Dhak star said no to the actor who offered him one of the three leads in his upcoming film. Rajinikanth who has acted with Madhuri before in Uttar Dakshin in 1987 was keen to sign Madhuri in the film Rana. But the actress turned down the offer saying she was missing her sons and wanted to fly back to US.
